He Studied at Panadura St. Anthony's School. He has achieved the medal of Queen as a Scout . The teacher, Consistence Cooray Produced Films for Children for the First time in Sri Lanka .
He also acted as an assistant director in those films. “ Samaga Sevaya , Gami Kolla, Asaranaya “ are those films.
He worked as an editor at the institute of Serendib when he was going to school . He worked as an assistant editor in “Punchi Baba and Nari Latha “ directed by Tissa Liyanasooriya an edited by Tytus Thotawatta. After that he worked as an assistant director in K.A.W Perera's “ Bicycle Hora , Seeye Nottuwa , Kathuru Muwath, Aparadhaya and Daduwama , Lokuma Hinawa.
He passes in a written examination by directing “ Sara polowa Jaya Bimai “ to register as an director an editor in National Film Co-operation .
His first directed film was “ Jeewanthi” and it was black and white .a after that he created the famous film “ Sathweni Davasa”.
This film got the Golden award at the Malaysian Film Festival as the best Commercial Film in the Asia in 1982 .
After that he created many films with high income and more popular . He is the chaireman of Lions club in Egodawatta. He is a Justice in peace for whole island , It was presented by the National Film Co-operation. The organization of all Nations presented the “Kala Jothi Award “ for me.
He has been to England , Canada , Germany , Spain , Greece , France , Switzerland including 65 countries .
Presently , he has completed a film called “ Sanjana” I wish to do my best for the film industry in Sri Lanka for the betterment for our Nation .
